The End: Delectable dishes, short movies cap 6th Long Beach International Film Festival

Attendees treated to variety of the Island’s best food and unique way to watch movies

It's one of the most interesting ways to take in a movie: sitting on the sand or watching from the boardwalk.

Welcome to “Shorts on the Beach” a collection of short films screened just a few feet away from the Atlantic Ocean along the shore in Long Beach.

The open-air event capped off the Sixth Annual Long Beach International Film Festival.

And to get the party started, more than 50 of Long Island's best restaurants, brewers and winemakers gathered on the sand for a foodie festival called “Taste on the Beach.”

FiOS1 News' very own Restaurant Hunter Rob Petrone served as host of the event, as well as a celebrity judge.

“This is a fun event. This is my third year being here. What's better than having food right on the beach, overlooking the ocean?” Petrone said.

This year's film festival played host to several big names, including Nancy Cartwright, who provides the voice of one of the most iconic characters in pop culture: “Bart Simpson.”

“Bart would probably love it here. Are you kidding? He'd be like, ‘Man, give me a surfboard! I’m outta here!’ He'd love it!” Cartwright said, referring to what America’s favorite troublemaker might think of Long Beach.
