Weather alert: Snow arrives on Long Island, changes over to rain

FiOS1 Meteorologist Brian Fitzgerald says dropping temperatures will create slippery conditions on the road

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Nassau and northern Suffolk County until 11 a.m. A wintry mix of snow, ice, and rain will enter the area Wednesday morning.

Although the precipitation is expected to quickly changeover to rain by the early afternoon, slick and slushy roads are still possible.

Any snow, and sleet accumulations should be less than an inch.

Motorists are advise to plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the late morning and evening commute.
