Weather alert: Winter storm warning issued for Suffolk

Winter storm watch in effect for Nassau ahead of Thursday’s snow

A winter storm warning is in effect from 1 a.m. Thursday to 12 a.m. Friday for Suffolk County. Snow totals are expected to be between 6 to 12 inches.

A winter storm watch is in effect for Nassau County for Wednesday night and into Thursday night. Snow is expected to accumulate between 3 and 6 inches with locally heavier amounts possible.

Heavy snow and blowing snow are possible. Travel conditions will be difficult, especially for the morning commute.
