State police investigate after swastika found at former Lewisboro Elementary School

A symbol of hate has been marked across the Katonah-Lewisboro School District in now three separate incidents, and some worry is now a reflection on the community.

Just last week, school administrators announced that swastikas were found carved and drawn onto a tree on the John Jay High School campus.

About a month before, the swastika symbol was also discovered on a playground at Lewisboro Elementary School.

Students believe it's a prank but either way, they say, it's putting a bad name on their school district.

Laura Isler is a Chinese-Jewish American, proudly living in the Katonah-Lewisboro district with children in the school system. She says the reputation they're receiving from these incidents is far from the truth.

School officials are working with police to make sure the person or persons behind the vandalism are held responsible. They have sent out several letters to parents and called for a special student assembly asking anyone with information to come forward.
