PD release names of victims in Pound Ridge murder-suicide

Dad killed daughter, wife inside home before committing suicide, according to authorities

Fifty-six-year-old Steven Dym is believed to have shot his 50-year-old wife Loretta and 18-year-old daughter Caroline in the family's home before killing himself.

Pound Ridge Police Chief David Ryan was one of the first to arrive on the scene of 23 Fox Hill Rd. in Pound Ridge. The street is still blocked off by yellow tape and police have remained on scene.

Authorities did not say where the three bodies were found, who was killed first, or a possible motive.

Some neighbors told FiOS1 News Saturday that the family was sorting through some issues and had recently sold their house. The home was listed for $1.7 million.

The family also has a 20-year-old son, William Dym, who was not home at the time of the murders. William was away at college at the University of Southern California.

FiOS1 News also learned that the Dyms donated over $4,000 to Gov. Andrew Cuomo during his gubernatorial run in 2002 and Cuomo thanked them in his 2003 book "Crossroads: The Future of American Politics."

However, The Journal News reports that a spokesman for the governor says he has not seen or heard of Steven Dym in 15 years.
