The Business Council of Westchester highlights 40 rising stars under 40

Leaders in different industries are honored for their hard work

RYE BROOK — The Business Council of Westchester honored 40 people under the age of 40 who are making a big impact in the community. Each one stepped on stage to receive their Rising Star Award. The honorees who all work in different fields are being recognized for their leadership.

"Each year, we present a class of 40 individuals from all different industries — private sector, public sector — people who are again making their mark in Westchester County, and that's the most important thing," said John Ravitz, the executive vice president of the Westchester Business Council.

Getting recognized for their work was a competitive process.

"There is a selection committee. We usually get about 120 applications and we have to dwindle it down to the final 40," said Ravitz.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer says it's great to see the next generation honored for all they have accomplished so far.

"They've already had accomplishments before they hit the age of 40. So, the hope is that they stick around Westchester for the next 20, 30 years," Latimer said.
