The College of New Rochelle has been facing financial troubles since October and now, the school is auctioning off five single-family homes to generate revenue for the institution.

The college is $20 million in debt for not paying payroll taxes for a period of eight quarters — beginning in 2014.

The 105-year-old private college is now selling five properties close to campus — three are currently being used as staff housing, the other two as administrative space.

The school has contracted a national real estate firm to conduct an auction of the properties to raise funds.

School officials have said they will try to avoid it, but the last result would be closing down the college and placing students in other schools.

Cristina Pagan, a nursing student, is concerned about her credits being transferred if the school closes down.

These homes will be auctioned on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
