ConEd customers living in the dark outraged over ongoing power outages

Residents say the lack of communication from the utility company has made their frustration worse

SCARSDALE — Some residents in Scarsdale are saying they are fed up after having spent nearly a week living without electricity.

"I'm literally looking across the street and there are people going to work, having their coffee, they're taking their showers and i'm literally in my house and it's 48 degrees and it's frustrating and cold and I'm fed up with it and I don't know when it's going to end," said Greg Messerle.

Residents say that the cold and dark make things difficult enough, but the lack of communication has made Con Edison's response even worse.

"The whole lack of information and misinformation coming out of ConEd, I think has been one of the biggest frustrations for people. I'm seeing it expressed on social media and it leaves you with complete hopelessness and like it's never going to get resolved because it doesn't seem like anyone is really in charge or driving the train," said Mimi Rocah.
