Croton-on-Hudson bakery helps fight hunger one cupcake at a time

Baked By Susan teamed up with the Food Bank of Westchester and their Eating for Orange campaign

September is Hunger Action Month at the food bank for Westchester and more than 20 restaurants are teaming up with the organization to help raise awareness about food insecurity.

Susan is not a baker who says, "Let them eat cake." Instead, she does all that she can to donate cakes to those who can't afford it themselves.

Owner of Baked by Susan, a shop in the quaint little village of Croton-On-Hudson, Susan O'Keefe jumped on board when she learned that September was Hunger Action Month. She teamed up with the Food Bank for Westchester and their Eating for Orange campaign by selling cupcakes covered in decadent orange icing all month long.

And while most people don't immediately think of food insecurity when they see gourmet baked goods, Susan says this is her way of making sure that everyone gets something sweet.
