‘Dads Take Your Child to School Day’ to take place on Sept. 19 in Westchester

Initiative promotes fathers being actively involved in the lives of their children

“Dads Take Your Child to School Day” will be taking place at schools all across Westchester County next week, promoting the importance of fathers playing a role in the lives of their children.

Many kids board the yellow school bus to get to class, but for at least one day each year, dads are encouraged to do the morning drop-off.

The program is part of the County Executive Rob Astorino's "Dad be There" campaign, which focuses on dads spending more time with their families to promote bonding, instill discipline and prevent bullying.

“Dads Take Your Child to School Day” will be held on Tuesday, Sept.19.
