Mount Vernon welcomes Olympian runner Deajah Stevens back home

Big celebration honors the incredibly talented champion

In a day that runner Deajah Stevens will never forget, the Olympian was honored as a hometown hero in a parade for the incredible talent and determination she showed at the summer Olympics in Rio.

“I'm proud that they're proud of me,” Stevens said.

She was placed seventh in the 200-meter in Rio and her community couldn't be more proud of her.

Residents say it’s just a matter of time before she brings home a medal.
