The Yankees pitchers’ and catchers’ spring training workouts, so far, have been about conditioning - getting their legs ready to go for the long season ahead.

Since Monday, the pitchers have been running up mound as part of that routine.

It's the brainchild of strength and conditioning coach Matt Krause who had lobbied Joe Girardi for the hill in the past.

Most people who played high school athletics are very familiar with the scheme. Even the Bronx Bombers’ ace CC Sabathia was running up the hill.

“I like it. I mean, it’s a good change of pace… whatever they got us to do, we’re just going to go out and do it,” commented the team’s 2015 first round pick James Kaprielian.
