7 people hospitalized after wrong-way crash on Bronx River Parkway

35-year-old driver faces possible alcohol-related charges after collision

YONKERS — A car heading in the wrong direction on the Bronx River Parkway northbound collided with another vehicle, carrying a family of six. All seven people involved suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and were taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

The driver of the car who was heading southbound on the northbound side of the parkway was identified as a 35-year-old man from New York City.

The family of six is reportedly from Florida and had just landed in New York and rented a car to visit family.

Westchester County police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash and say the driver could face charges.
