Mt. Pleasant taxpayers: Officials misusing taxpayers dollar

Officials say the town has a 200K budget, to repave streets

MOUNT PLEASANT — Residents are upset at local officials and believe taxpayer dollars are being misused for unneeded town projects.

Residents say the Mt. Pleasant Highway Department is repaving streets that are in perfectly good condition.

Last week, Mt. Pleasant resident Christopher Dzielak saw workers repaving Cy Court and says he asked them if it needed to be paved, and town workers said no.

"If the condition was on a rate of 100 percent, I'd give it an 80," says Dzielak.

Officials say they’re not abusing taxpayer dollars to do unnecessary work, and that they already have a repaving plan for next year.
