White Plains Hospital celebrates 6-story expansion

New addition includes lounges, overnight rooms, locker rooms and more

WHITE PLAINS — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for White Plains Hospital’s new Central Clinical Services Facility.

The new facility has more than 20,000 square feet of renovated space and is equipped to serve the needs of patients’ families and staff.

"It’s a wearing job. I'm actually a nurse, so I know what it’s like to be on the front line. I like to say, and I know that we have people that really do care, but as we know caring for people is a really big commitment And we want to be able to give our staff all the support they need to do the job they want to do," says White Plains Hospital President and CEO Susan Fox.

The facility includes lounges where families can discuss patient progress with physicians, overnight rooms for parents with newborn babies in neonatal intensive care, as well as a new addition for staff that includes showers, a locker room and a place to stay overnight.

The Central Clinical Services Facility is a portion of the 200,000 square feet that was renovated at the White Plains Hospital since 2015.
