Officials celebrate beginning of his term as county executive

VALHALLA — George Latimer took the oath of office as the ninth county executive in Westchester County's history on Sunday.

The oath was administered by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in front of a packed audience for Latimer's inauguration. He officially took over as county executive on the first of the year and has wasted no time getting to work.

Now in office, he promised to work for the people and treat those on both sides of the aisle with respect.
