Man from Yonkers involved in deadly crash sentenced to 3-9 years in state prison

Family: Sentencing was ‘a moment of justice’


YONKERS - Renzo Yance, 22, was sentenced to three to nine years in prison on Tuesday for his part in a car crash that left Nina Cordero, 19, dead.

According to authorities, Yance was driving over 100 miles per hours without a license on Central Avenue in Yonkers in August 2017 when he lost control and flipped the car, ejecting Cordero who was one of the vehicle's passengers.

Yance plead guilty to 2nd-degree manslaughter, 3rd-degree assault and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle plus driving while ability impaired from a separate incident in Dobbs Ferry.
