ROCKLAND COUNTY — The Rockland County Fire Department Training Center welcomed over 100 new U.S. citizens on Friday.

John Johnson, a Jamaican immigrant, came to the U.S. two decades ago for a better life. In 2016 he applied for citizenship.

“The American dream is being able to achieve whatever you want to achieve,” he says.

One-hundred-sixty-three immigrants from 43 countries took the oath during the naturalization ceremony.
