Detectives: Thieves break in through the roof of jewelry store in New Rochelle

Store owners say more than a million dollars’ worth of jewelry and watches were stolen

NEW ROCHELLE — Police say the New Rochelle Coin Stamp & Jewelers on Division Street was burglarized early Friday morning. The owners say more than a million dollars’ worth of jewels, gold and watches were stolen.

The store has been owned by Tony Silva for nearly 40 years. The owner's daughter said the burglary happened around 3 or 4 a.m. She also said this isn't the first time.

Detectives believe the burglar or burglars got in the roof of the building.
