Officials: Bronx teen accused of shooting Yonkers 16-year-old while showing off loaded gun

Police say Horace Allen fled the scene after he shot Joseph Kuaffo in the chest


YONKERS -- A Bronx teenager was charged Wednesday with criminally negligent homicide in the shooting death of a 16-year-old in Yonkers.

17-year-old Horace Allen was charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and several other charges in a shooting from September.

Allen pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him and was given a bail bond of $250,000.

Police say Allen was at this Warburton Avenue home on September 24, showing off a loaded handgun to 16-year-old Joseph Kuaffo when the gun went off and Kuaffo was shot in the chest.

Allen fled the apartment immediately after the shooting. Police arrived later and pronounced Kuaffo dead.

In addition to manslaughter, Allen is also charged criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm; all are felony charges.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 13.
