Booming Westchester tourism brings in record profit

$1.9B industry helps support over 24,500 jobs in the county

OSSINING — Westchester County Executive George Latimer praised local leaders on Friday in different divisions for their work in assisting to help make Westchester more attractive to visitors. According to a report, visitor spending in Westchester increased to a record $1.9 billion in 2017, which has gone to support over 24,500 jobs.

"I give maximum credit to the industries and to the people of the industries," Latimer said. "When I was in the industry ... it took a lot of effort to be creative and find that market share, and that's what these members are doing."
