New Rochelle officials along with developer RXR Realty announced a major downtown renovation project.

Dual 28-story towers will be built at the current Church Division parking garage in downtown New Rochelle. Mayor Noam Bramson is expecting the buildings to make a positive impact on the city's economy.

Located near the heart of Main Street and half a block away from the central portion of downtown, the estimated $300 million project will include 650 to 700 residential units as well as 35,000 to 40,000 square feet of retail space. The towers will also have parking access.

The two-phase project will be constructed by Long Island-based developer RXR Realty, who has the master development agreement with the city.

RXR expects to seek site approval by the end of this year with the hopes of breaking ground in the second half of 2018.
