NEW ROCHELLE -- A group of local firefighters are being hailed as heroes after they saved a baby boy's life.

It is a call that no first responder ever wants to get: A baby who isn't breathing. But the firefighters at Station 3 in New Rochelle didn't leave the firehouse to respond. The emergency came to them.

Sixteen-month old Angelo Pino's parents drove straight to the firehouse on North Avenue desperate for help after Angelo became unconscious.

Little Angelo suffers from cyanotic spells, which cause him to hold his breath for periods of time while he's crying.

His mother Amanda says this episode lasted longer than normal, causing him to lose consciousness.

Because of the quick action of the New Rochelle Fire Department, Angelo was saved and didn't suffer from any injury.
