Monday was a big day for commuters in Rockland County who travel in and out of New York City.

For the first time, an additional stop has been added in Pearl River, one that County Executive Ed Day says will hopefully change the future of business in the county.

Bus Route 20 now has a new stop in town. The bus, which goes to and from Port Authority in Manhattan will now stop at Blue Hill Plaza, a place County Executive Day calls the heart of the business community in Rockland.

Both county officials and business leaders agree that direct transportation to New York City would attract new employees and new businesses to the region.

With this new stop bus, Route 20 will no longer serve Orangeburgh Road, Sickletown Road, or Convent Road west of 3rd Ave.
