2-year-old killed in early-morning fire in Newburgh

The fire also sent a number of others, including first responders, to the hospital


NEWBURGH — Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a fire at a home on Coach Lane that left a 2-year-old boy dead and a woman critically injured early Friday morning.

Police say that over a dozen people were inside the home at the time of the fire. Two police officers and several firefighters were also taken tot he hospital after battling the fire. The police officers have since been released, but the condition of the firefighters is unclear.
