Police still searching for answers in Spring Valley hit-and-run

Authorities are still trying to find the driver who hit 54-year-old Eva Linda Najera-Gomez

Spring Valley police have released new surveillance video that they say may show the driver who struck 54-year-old mother Eva Linda Najera-Gomez on October 15, and are asking for the public's help.

Najera-Gomez was walking home just before 2 a.m. when she was truck by a car. She was taken to Westchester Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

The surveillance footage shows a silver or gray car allegedly leaving the scene of the accident and turning down West Church Street.

"We don't know if the operator of the vehicle struck her," said Detective Eugene Suarez of the Spring Valley Police Department. "That's what we are trying to find out."

Authorities say Najera-Gomez lived just a short distance from where the accident happened. She left behind a 13-year-old daughter and a brother.

Anyone with information on the incident is being asked to call the Spring Valley Police Department.
