State Comptroller Thomas Dinapoli released a report that landed five Hudson Valley villages on the most fiscally stressed list in the state, one of them was the Village of Pomona.

The scoring system looks at two dozen factors, which include population trends, sales tax revenue, property values, and the local government's year end budget.

Pomona has been designated the second most fiscally stressed village in the state, with a rating of 67.5 percent, a 16.7 percent increase from last year.

State Comptroller Thomas Dinapoli says the report should be a wakeup call for local officials and taxpayers.

While Rockland County is facing significant fiscal issues but its "stress number" has decreased over twenty percent from last year.
