Voters in Port Chester approved a new school bond of over $79M on Tuesday.

The bond will mean improvements to all the schools in the district, like new classrooms to help alleviate problems with overcrowding, media centers for students, band rehearsal spaces and new athletic facilities.

Educators in the district have said that the bond would help with a growing number of students and allow for smaller class sizes.

The bond will raise property taxes by roughly $75 per $1,000,000 of home assessment value over a period of 24 years.
