Some of the finest young athletes from Port Chester and New Rochelle were recognized for their skill at the Universal Cheerleading Association National Championship in Orlando, Florida.

The Lady Rams of Port Chester High School placed for the first time, finishing 4th in the non-tumbling varsity category.

Meanwhile, the New Rochelle Huguenots, who have been national finalists for the last 10 years, placed 3rd in the small varsity Division I category.

Both teams say they will continue to train hard, with the state championships set for March.
