Greenburgh police arrest a White Plains man on hate crime charges. They say he sent a threatening e-mail last month to the town supervisor about his stance on whether or not to remove a Confederate memorial at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Greenburgh police arrested the man on Wednesday, calling it a hate crime arrest for hate mail sent to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner that contained anti-Semitic language.

The email was in regards to the issue over a Confederate memorial in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Paul Feiner was questioning the appropriateness of that monument and he said he got the email, which he says police have been looking into.

Timothy Geotz was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime, which is a Class E felony.

He was arraigned and released on $25,000 bail.

He will be due back in court Friday.
