Yonkers Fire Department swears in 30 new firefighters

Newest members say they are eager to go out to protect their community

The Yonkers Fire Department welcomed over two dozen new members on Friday.

As proud family and friends looked on, the class of 30 firefighters was sworn in by Mayor Mike Spano and Yonkers Fire Commissioner Robert Sweeney.

The newest additions to the department say they're eager to get out there and help protect their community.

The ceremony also included the promotion of three fire officers.
