The Yonkers Board of Education voted Friday to officially approve a new seven-year contract for teachers.

The Yonkers Federation of Teachers, the City of Yonkers and the Board of Education settled on the deal earlier this week.

The contract will grant $30 million in state aid to the Yonkers School District and increase teacher's salaries by about 15 percent over the span of seven years.

The contract retroactively covers all terms of employment for public school teachers dating back to July 2014.
