Yorktown Heights Dems allege Republican campaign mailer spreads racism, lies

Mailer depicts former Yorktown supervisor as a marionette dangling current democratic candidates for town board and supervisor

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS – Politics can be dirty and Democrats in Yorktown Heights allege the Republican Party is not playing clean.

A mailer, paid for by the New York State Republican State Committee, shows former Yorktown supervisor, Susan Siegel, as a marionette dangling the current democratic candidates for town board and supervisor. They are Jewish, African-American and Indian.

The mailer reads, "Support making Yorktown a sanctuary town," and "Making Yorktown a safe haven for illegal immigrants causing your taxes to go up."

On the back side of the ad, a photo of the Yorktown Republican ticket, all white men, with the words: "Standing up for taxpayer and never taking a knee!"

Siegel says current town supervisor, Michael Grace, is using the mailers as a way to avoid the real issues.

A second mailer, sent out Wednesday, depicts Siegel driving a school bus with the rest of candidates in the back.

This is not the only thing the Democratic Party is upset about. They are also claiming voter disenfranchisement because there might be a chance the polling site at town hall may be re-located on Election Day due to construction outside the town hall.

FiOS1 reached out to Michael Grace at his law office and at town hall for comment about the ads, but has not heard back.
