Former Rutgers basketball players Kia Vaughn and Epiphanny Prince, teammates under Coach C. Vivian Stringer, have paired up across the Hudson for the New York Liberty.

Kia Vaughn needs no introduction with New York Liberty since the Bronx native spent her first four WNBA seasons in her hometown but was traded to the Washington Mystics in 2013, and traded back this past January.

“I didn't think it was possible to get back home, but I'm here," Vaughn said.

Epiphany Prince is also happy for her return, now that she can play alongside one of her closest friends.

"Kia is a strong body. She's playing with a real physical presence that we need. I played with her in AAU so I was just excited to be able to play with her again," Prince said.

From AAU to Rutgers and now with New York Liberty, Vaughn and Prince are excited for their next chapter together

"I played with her three years in college. Hopefully, I'll retire here and be with her forever here too," Vaughn said.
