Snow causes downed power lines, dangerous conditions in Bergen County

The county's Office of Emergency Management said that at the peak of Wednesday's storm, the county had over 20K customers without power


HO-HO-KUS — Wednesday's nor'easter slammed into Bergen County, leaving thousands of residents without power.

"We had a lot of snowfall in a very short period of time," said Lt. Matthew Tiedman of the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management. "The snow was very heavy, wet snow which sat on power lines and trees, which caused the majority of our issues."
