Students in Cedar Grove honor 9/11 victims

This is the 3rd year that Cedar Grove High School has remembered the lives lost

For the last three years, students at Cedar Grove High School have remembered the lives lost on Sept. 11 with the "Waves" project.

"We put the people's names next to the right nationality of that person, and the Cedar Grove Waves came out of the fact that when you watch the flags in the breeze they're waving and its our way of saying that w'ell never forget those people that perished that day," said David Schoner, organizer of the project.

Staff say it will take two days to install the over 2,000 flags on the school's front lawn.

For students, the flags are a special history lesson, as many of the students were either toddlers or not even born when the attacks happened.

The school will also hold a special ceremony on Monday to honor the 16th anniversary of the attacks, and the display will remain on the lawn through Sept. 23.
