A three-year degree could be the answer to making college more affordable. It is part of 11-point college affordability proposal in recently introduced legislation. Democrats met with students at NJIT to talk about the legislation.

Paying off student loans is something many of are all too familiar with, and lawmakers are trying to ease the burden.

The average college senior graduates with nearly 30,000 dollars in debt, according to the Democratic Policy and Communications Center. The reason for the rising debt, the rising cost of college. More than 40 million Americans are currently burdened with student loan debt.
