Cops and kids 'CHAT 4 Change' in Jersey City

The summertime event encourages meeting and interaction between young people and public safety officials

JERSEY CITY — This summer, young people in the city will be competing to meet and interact with as many public safety officials as possible as part of a competition called "CHAT 4 Change."

'CHATs for Change' is just one idea that we think will get us and get people to see the positive sides of the police officer that work everyday in their neighborhoods," said Chief Mike Kelly.

Anyone 18 or younger can participate in the competition, where they'll have to go to events and receive badges from officers they speak to. Events will be announced on the city's social media accounts, website, and through emails.
