Flames consumed a home on Cambridge Avenue in Garfield after a tree limb fell on a power line and sparked a fire, officials say.

Officials say strong winds were a big factor in fighting the two-alarm fire. Crew had to wait until the power was shut off before they could begin fighting the fire, which destroyed the three-family home.

Firefighters say neighboring departments assisted them in fighting the fire.

All of the residents made it out safely before firefighters arrived, but the damage done to the structure has left 10 people without a home.
