FREEHOLD - A hearing for a man accused of attacking and running over a photographer in a racially-motivated hate crime was postponed on Tuesday.

Authorities say that Jamil Hubbard attacked freelance photographer Jerry Wolkowitz in May, punching him in the head and face before running Wolkowitz over with his car. Hubbard then allegedly stole Wolkowitz's car, before being arrested in Sayreville. County prosecutor's say that the men did not know each other and believe it was a hate crime.

Hubbard is black, and the victim, Wolkowitz is white.

Hubbard's attorney has requested a mental health evaluation, and his next hearing has been pushed back to 9 a.m. on Thursday.
