A warm meal, new clothes, and a haircut – these are some of the things being given to the homeless people in Essex County on Wednesday.

"We got good hearts, everything like that. So, you know, we're just trying to help ourselves and get back on the right track," Kevin Perry said.

Perry is just one over the hundreds of homeless who flocked to Branch Brook Park for the 10th annual Essex County Project Homeless Connect Day.

"It makes you look good, so you feel good and have a little different pep to your step," Bryan Crawley, a volunteer said.

Over 65 community and faith-based organizations joined together, to offer things like toiletries, clothing, and shoes to whoever showed up.

Organizers say one of the most important things they're offering is health care, specifically for those with psychological problems.
