Former Israeli prime minister talks recent violence at book signing in Livingston

Ehud Barak served as Israel's 10th prime minister from 1999-2001

LIVINGSTON — The recent violence in Gaza between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian protesters became the focus of attention at a book signing on Tuesday with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak. Barak, who served as prime minister from 1999 to 2001, emphasized that the security of Israel was the priority and that Israel did not have any issues with Palestinians, but with Hamas, specifically. Barak also said that the relocation of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem will be good for Israel and could be beneficial in the future should the area find peace through a two-state solution.
