300 young women were at Kean University’s STEM building on Saturday for the Celebration of Womanhood S.T.E.A.M. Conference, celebrating women’s abilities and achievements in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

The event is meant to broaden the horizons of young women and show them they can be whatever they want to be.

“I want to be a scientist when I grow up, so I’m proud they’re emphasizing that women can make a difference in the world.” Nayeli Marmol said.

“Never give up, no matter how many failures you have. Life is not easy period so you just have to keep on trying.” Ashanti Haley said.
