Bridgewater-Raritan 5, Watchung Hills 4

High school boys lacrosse game

The Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers (11-5) are the Somerset County champions for the 4th straight year, winning 5-4 in overtime against the Watchung Hills Warriors (14-2) at Torpey Athletic Complex in Bridgewater. The Warriors, who reached the county final for the first time in team history, scored all 3 of the game's 1st-quarter goals, but highlight-reel shots by Troy Tangolics and Dan MacKinney tied the score before halftime. Connor James's 2nd goal gave Watching Hills another lead in the 3rd quarter, but Tangolics completed his first career hat trick with 1:23 left in regulation to get the Panthers to OT, and then Riley Moore scored the game-winner with 1.8 seconds left in the extra frame. Interestingly, all 9 scores were put into the goal on the left side of the field.
