For the second straight year, the 2-seed Livingston Lancers (17-6) beat the 1-seed Bloomfield Bengals (21-3) to win the Essex County championship, this time winning in straight sets at West Essex High School in North Caldwell. Drew Nardone's 3 kills and 1 block keyed Livingston to a 7-1 lead in the 1st set, which they would easily win 25-19. The 2nd set was much closer, but after an 11-11 tie, Livingston earned 5 straight points and held on to take the set 25-21. Jacob Siwek had a match-high 11 kills for Livingston, while Nardone, Fil Tosic, and Austin Hong all had 6 kills. Kyle Barrow led Bloomfield with 10 kills, with Daniel Chavez getting 6 kills and Jayson Lopez adding 3 kills and 10 assists.
