Robeson Classic All-Star Football Classic: West 28, East 0

Boys high school football

In the 25th annual Paul Robeson Football Classic at Robeson Stadium in East Orange, the West All-Stars beat the East for the 2nd straight year- but only the 5th time overall- by a 28-0 score. The West engineered 2 lengthy drives in the 1st half, with Parsippany Hills' Nick Verducci throwing TD passes to High Point's Jake Philip and Hanover Park's Michal Radomski. Verducci added a beautiful TD run in the 3rd quarter, and the West's suffocating defense earned 6 sacks (with 2.5 sacks by Kennedy's Diony Dilone) and forced 3 turnovers. Passaic Tech's Rahzik Starr added 52 rush yards on 7 carries for the West, while Caldwell's Brian Clarkin led the East with 87 yards on 9-of-17 passing. This marks the first time the West has won back-to-back games, and the first time they have shut out the East.
