Passaic's tallest building comes back to life

The lights are back on at the once-vacant building

PASSAIC — On a street filled with short buildings, 663 Main Ave. truly stands out. But for a long time, it was for the wrong reasons. After standing vacant for 20 years, the building is now being used by Blink Fitness.

The gym, which opened on Friday, takes up three floors of a 11-story building after years of renovation. According The Record newspaper, the city has been attempting to revamp the building for years, but plans kept falling through. Now, it looks like everything is starting to come together. In addition to Blink Fitness, there's a Sushi Fusion restaurant opening below. And according to Mayor Lora, the board of education will probably be moving their offices into the building too.

The mayor says he's very proud to have finally been able to open the building back up.
