Residents in Tenafly feel mixed emotions about latest winter weather event

Second nor’easter in less than a week brings snow and wind to the Garden State

TENAFLY — The snow continues Wednesday afternoon as a second winter storm bears down on the Garden State. In Tenafly, the snow is now heavier and the winds are stronger.

People are having mixed reactions to this latest nor’easter: Some don't mind it, but others say they're fed up.

“I'm hoping to get out of here. It's too cold. You guys have too many nor'easters and I’m about done," said Debra Harper of Englewood.

The impacts of this storm are ever-changing throughout the day. Light rain and snow fell early. Now the snow is thickening and the winds are gusting.

The last nor'easter hit the Garden State hard, with heavy wind and snow less than a week ago and now there is a similar scene Wednesday.

Some residents who aren’t worried are still making preparations though.

"I just want to prepare. I have a baby, so I can’t be outside. I'm outside now. I don't want to go when it's actually worse, so it’s always better to be safe than sorry," said Melissa Lashley of North Bergen.

Those who had to work Wednesday made some adjustments to avoid what could be a messy evening commute.

"I'm going to work three hours early so I can leave three hours early," said Erin Averill of Ringwood.
