After becoming a powerful player on her school team, she wrote about how she tackled her skeptics

UNION — When an 8-year-old girl from Union Township was told by the coach she couldn't play football, she not only proved him wrong, she wrote a book about it. Now 12, Dasia Edmond has published two books and says “you can do whatever you put your mind to" and that age doesn’t stop a person from accomplishing great things.

Edmond didn’t let her coach stop her from playing even when he said she couldn't. In the first book she authored called "Uniquely Made,” she writes about how she had to prove him and her other skeptics wrong. Her other book called “Hair Chronicles” details the struggles of caring for natural hair.

Both of her books can be found at Barnes and Noble or Amazon.com.
