RUTHERFORD — New York Giants offensive lineman Nate Solder and hundreds of Stop & Shop employees gathered at MetLife Stadium on Wednesday to kick off their annual fundraiser to benefit pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

"When you see people like this that are supporting it and they care, you see all the people that showed up here and the time they spend for the same cause, it's really heartwarming," Solder said.

Solder is a cancer survivor himself, and his 2-year-old son, Hudson, is currently fighting kidney cancer.

The fundraising event kicks off this week and runs until July at Stop & Shop locations across the tristate area.
